Fedora Copley Named 2010 Volunteer of the Year
The Washington County Community Mediation Center announced it has named Fedora Copley as its 2010 Volunteer of the Year. Ms. Copley was recognized at Community Mediation Maryland's Fifth Annual Gala in June.
"Fedora came to the center as a teen mediator," said Cliff Kurt, the center's executive director. "Her skills as a mediator and her passion for our mission are unparalleled."
Kurt said the center is fortunate to enjoy the service of a large pool of dedicated volunteers. "We have an army of passionate men, women and teens who offer mediation services to the residents of Washington County. Each of our volunteers is to be commended for his or her contribution to peace in our community."
Lorig Charkoudian, executive director of Community Mediation Maryland, concurred. "We really value the work done by volunteers like Fedora," she said. "Their commitment and hard work ensures that people throughout Maryland have access to high quality mediation services at no cost to resolve disputes and build relationships."
