This orientation is offered by the Maryland Correctional Training Center for new volunteers who are interested in co-mediating reentry mediation cases in prison. In order to attend this training, mediators must submit a full volunteer application to Ms. Barbara Allen, MCTC's Volunteer Activities Coordinator, AND you must have approval through the background check process from Ms. Allen's office to attend the training. At the orientation, new volunteers are introduced to what it is like to volunteer in a prison along with an explanation of the prison rules and best safety practices. In addition, you will be given a grief tour of the grounds and taken for your official volunteer picture ID.
